Rules of origin relating to the scheme of generalised tariff preferences Print E-mail

The European Commission adopted Regulation (EU) No 2015/428 amending Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93 and Regulation (EU) No 1063/2010 as regards the rules of origin relating to the scheme of generalised tariff preferences and preferential tariff measures for certain countries or territories.

This amendement concerns primarly the electronic system of registered exporters (‘the REX system’) that will apply as from 1 January 2017.

 
Regional Convention on pan-Euro-Mediterranean preferential rules of origin Print E-mail

The European Commission published in the EU Official Journal C 22 of 23 January 2015 a notice concerning the date of application of the Regional Convention on pan-Euro-Mediterranean preferential rules of origin or the protocols on rules of origin providing for diagonal cumulation between the Contracting Parties to this Convention.

The tables attached to this notice specify the date from which diagonal cumulation becomes applicable.

This notice replaces notice 2014/C 111/05.

 
New tariff preferences for Kenya and Philippines Print E-mail

European Commission decided to grant, as from 25 December 2014, GSP+ to the Republic of the Philippines and preferences provided by Council Regulation (EC) No 1528/2007 (ACP) to the Republic of Kenya.

 
Tariff preferences to Ecuador Print E-mail

Ecuador is still not Party to the Trade Agreement between the European Union and Colombia and Peru. Regulation (EU) No 1384/2014 provides for the maintenance of the level of duty rates applicable to goods originating in Ecuador on 12 December 2014 as from 1 January 2015.

To benefit from tariff preferences, the GSP rules of origin shall be applied and the proof of origin is given by the certificate Form A.

This Regulation should be applied until six months after the entry into force or date of provisional application of the Protocol of Accession, and until 31 December 2016 at the latest.

 
Import into the EU of agricultural and industrial products Print E-mail

Nine new products will benefit, from 1 January 2015, of tariff quotas at zero duty rates for an appropriate volume. Moreover, Regulation (EU) N. 1387/2013 suspending the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duty on certain agricultural and industrial products has been amended by Council Regulation (EU) N. 1341/2014.
